Summer doodles & Wimbledon

Some quick sketches of my shoes, a slipper and my hairdryer with watercolour. I want to get used to using watercolours more!
One of mum's shandy bottles and a good old Primark bag! One is so smooth and defined while the other is flimsy and crumpled.
The handle bars of my exercise bike, a reel of cotton because it is next to my bed? And my bag with my soft toy doggy in front which, yes, I do sleep with.

Inspired by Beyonce on Glastonbury but I didn't get a clear enough shot of her to draw her there and then. She makes me so proud to be a woman. It comes with so much power.
I watched the Nadal match today (no particular reason...) and I found that like most things in life, there were moments that I found really striking. I decided to find some images of the tennis players in motion to draw, but instead I found that their facial expressions were quite amusing.
It was quite sad to see Federer being knocked out!! This isn't quite like the image I found and I think he is a bit younger here, too.

Butterflies and other insects

I went for a walk in the village the other day, down to the field past the school to make the most of the weather. I have often seen deer and woodpeckers in this field so I thought it would be a good place to take a walk.
I took my music with me but I found that the sound of nature was much more peaceful! I took these photos on my phone, so they're not as good as they could be but they're still not bad.
A small, fluffy moth
I'm not sure what sort of insect this is!! There is such a diverse range of insects and many of these can be found amongst the brambles...
Another insect I'm not sure about but it is better camouflaged than the last one.
Walking to town the next day I found a little ladybird on the back of my leg.

During the walk in the field, I didn't see any deer or woodpeckers but I did watch some rabbits up close. I also heard a cuckoo twice but I couldn't find it!! I wouldn't have heard that with my headphones in. Although next time I'll make sure my camera is charged. What a little country girl I am :)

We built this city!

Some of the buildings made out of cardboard for the cardboard city we are making for our exhibition.
There are a mixture of tall office skyscrapers and smaller flats and shops. The exhibition is at Slack Space, Colchester in a few weeks' time. I do believe I have a post about it below so check it out and come along if you can!!
